John Mayer was granted a temporary restraining order against a fan who apparently threatened the singer multiple times.

As E! News reports, court docs say that 39-year-old Ryan Jeremy Knight began harassing John and his team in March. The singer claims that Ryan started stalking and harassing just him, but things took a turn when the alleged culprit started making violent threats to his team via social media.

Furthermore, Ryan showed up to John’s performance in North Carolina on June 28 before the singer’s security team found Ryan and escorted him off the premises.

John then pursued legal action as Ryan’s threats have caused the singer to “suffer substantial emotional duress,” according to court filings.
