Chris Cuomo was caught on camera threatening a man who called him “Fredo,” and now insiders at Page Six say that folks at CNN were embarrassed by the whole thing.

In the video, the popular host told the man that the Godfather reference was a racial slur “like the ‘N-word’” for Italian Americans, and called him “a punk-ass bitch” and said, “I’ll f–king ruin your s – t. I’ll f–king throw you down these stairs.”

While some insiders told the outlet that CNN execs thought it was great, another said the chatter was that “everyone thinks it’s fine to stand up to trolls, but it escalated way past where it needed to.”

“It was embarrassing,” they added, “It was an unforced error, and he gave the right — and the president — ammunition to use against him and CNN.”

Of course, Trump loved it.
