This morning, it was revealed that the financier indicted on sex trafficking charges was found dead in a Manhattan jail. According to officials, he hanged himself.

Last month, Manhattan federal prosecutors charged him with sex trafficking of girls as young as 14, and details of his behavior have been emerging for years.

Mr. Epstein was under the legal microscope for decades with accusations that he had paid dozens of girls for sexual acts in Florida. While he served 13 months in jail in 2008 for solicitation of prostitution, his treatment was very light. In fact, according to the New York Times, Jeff was allowed to leave jail for 12 hours a day, six days a week, to work at his office in Florida.

Now, a week after being denied bail, he was found unconscious in his cell.
