Court Finds That Katy Perry Copied ‘Dark Horse’ From A Christian Rap Song

The verdict is in. Apparently, Katy Perry committed copyright infringement.

A jury in Los Angeles found that the singer and her writing team copied Christian rapper Flame’s (a.k.a. Marcus Gray) 2008 song “Joyful Noise” in her 2013 hit “Dark Horse”without his permission, according to the Associated Press.

Katy was reportedly not present in the courtroom as the jury read the verdict.

Now, the case is moving to a penalty phase, where it will be determined how much money Katy owes Flame. Who knows how much it will be!
