The Church of Scientology Was Hit With A Major Lawsuit

You guys… the Church of Scientology is in really deep water — even deeper than before.

A new lawsuit filed on June 18 by an anonymous plaintiff, a woman believed to be around 40 years old, is citing kidnapping, stalking, human trafficking, false imprisonment, libel, slander, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress against the Church.

“The Church of Scientology presents a facade to the outside world to disguise what, in reality, is nothing more than a cult built on mind control,” the lawsuit alleges.

Of course, the Church denies all allegations of abuse, commenting to Us Weekly, “We are confident the lawsuit will fail. The church will vigorously defend itself against these unfounded allegations.”

The lawsuit has the potential, via subpoenas, to reveal secrets the Church has tried to keep hidden for decades.

“Tom [Cruise] undoubtedly knows the stories about the church,” a source told Us Weekly of the superstar Scientologist.

Another insider said of the actor, “There’s very little he doesn’t know. He and David [Miscavige, the Church’s leader], are like brothers united in their religious devotion. If David is ordering this kind of harassment  on people trying to leave the church, Tom would likely see it.”
