Meryl Streep, Ariana Grande To Star In Netflix’s Film Adaption Of ‘The Prom’

We’re totally gagged because, as we previously reported, Ryan Murphy is bringing Broadway’s The Prom to Netflix — but he’s recruiting A-list talent!

Meryl Streep, Ariana Grande, Nicole Kidman, Awkwafina, James Corden, Keegan-Michael Key, and Andrew Rannells are headlining the cast.

Of course, Meryl is playing Dee Dee Allen, Deadline reported, the part made famous by Broadway great Beth Leavel.

Additionally, James Corden will be playing wannabe prom queen Barry Glickman, Nicole Kidman will be the high-kicking Angie (an aging dancer), and Andrew is playing Trent Oliver (an actor who went to Juilliard and constantly brags about it).

Ariana is playing Alyssa Greene, one half of a lesbian high school couple who plots to come out publicly during prom until things take a turn.

According to reports, a nationwide search is underway to fill the leading role of Emma, a lesbian teen who’s banned from her high school prom in ultra-conservative Edgewater, Indiana.

This is going to be… EPIC!
