Apparently, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Home Renovations Were At The Expense Of Taxpayers

Kensington Palace

We love the Duke and Duchess of Sussex so much, but not this much.

The couple’s home was renovated with $3.06 million of taxpayers’ money, according to an annual release of the royal family’s accounts, which showed that British citizens spent $85.2 million on the entire monarchy last year — a 41 percent increase from the year before.

While furnishings and extra fixtures at Harry and Meghan’s Frogmore Cottage were paid for by the couple, other major renovations (which turned five properties into one giant home) were paid for by taxpayers.

Furthermore, the Sovereign Grant, which funds Queen Elizabeth II and her castle’s expenses, was $104 million (amounting to $1.58 per person in the UK).

Ouch! Gotta love royalty.
