Sigourney Weaver Will Be In The New ‘Ghostbusters’ Sequel

That’s right! Ghostbusters 3 is coming next summer, and Sigourney Weaver will help drive the film all the way to the box office. The actress confirmed that she will join co-stars Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd in the sequel, reprising her role as cellist Dana Barrett.

“It’s going to be crazy working with the guys again!” she told Parade magazine.

Sigourney originated the role in the 1984 film. “I knew it would be big. The script was so funny and full of heart,” she said. “Ghostbusters changed my life.”

The sequel is being led by Jason Reitman, son of original director Ivan Reitman. It is not associated with the 2016 all-female reboot that starred Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones.

We’ll see how it goes!
