Kanye West Says He Wears MAGA Hat To Defend Trump Supporters

In case you haven’t heard, this new interview Kanye West did with David Letterman is sure to be one for the books!

Not only did the pop star speak about his struggle with bipolar disorder, as we previously reported, but now he’s defending Trump supporters. As we all know, Kanye is a staunch support of the president. So much so, that he wore a “Make America Great Again” hat during the interview.

“Have you ever been beat up in your high school for wearing the wrong hat?” he said in the interview, previewed by the Daily Beast. “Liberals bully people who are Trump supporters!”

The topic was touched when David started sparring with Kanye about the anxiety as a man in the #MeToo movement. That’s when Kanye brought up his relationship with Trump.

“This is like my thing with Trump—we don’t have to feel the same way, but we have the right to feel what we feel,” he said, further explaining that wearing the Trump MAGA hat is “not about politics.” In fact, he doesn’t even vote!

Instead, he said he chooses to wear the hat because he’s sticking up for Trump supporters who are heckled over their politics.

The second season of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction kicks off May 31 on Netflix. We will most definitely be watching.
