Is Jake Gyllenhaal Getting Ready To Play Accused Ivy League Killer?

It’s been announced that Jake Gyllenhaal is co-producing a film about accused Ivy League killer Thomas Gilbert Jr titled Gilded Rage.

Thomas is set to go to trial for the murder of his Manhattan hedge-funder father. Collder reports the film is based on a series of Vanity Fair articles about the murder of 70-year-old Thomas Gilbert Sr.

We still don’t know if Jake is starring in the film himself, but it seems highly likely that he is.

It will certainly be an interesting movie. As reported in the original Vanity Fair articles, Thomas was furious after his dad, a wealthy investment banker, slashed his $3,000-a-month allowance by $200.

Thomas’s mother Shelley told The Post that he was eventually diagnosed with schizophrenia as an adult. After years of erratic behavior, he showed up at his parents’s home in January 2015 and allegedly shot his father in the head.

Openings in the trial are scheduled for next Tuesday. Will you watch the movie?
