Whitney Houston’s Hologram Will Be Going On Tour

Will you go see Whitney Houston’s hologram on tour? Her estate is counting on you to! Not only are they sending her hologram on tour but they’re also planning on producing a new album from the late singer.

Estate executor and Whitney’s sister-in-law, Pat Houston, told The New York Times there might also be a Broadway musical in the works.

“Everything is about timing for me,” Pat said. “It’s been quite emotional for the past seven years. But now it’s about being strategic.”

The estate signed a deal with Primary Wave Music Publishing, which will now acquire 50 percent of the estate’s assets — including the singer’s royalties from music and film, merchandising, as well as the right to use her name and likeness.

The new album might be comprised of unused tracks from her 1985 self-titled debut album, which are currently owned by Sony, according to Primary Wave.

“Whitney was America’s sweetheart,” Larry Mestel, the founder of Primary Wave, said. “And the idea now is to remind people that that is what her legacy is.”

Larry also said of Whitney, who appeared in commercials for Diet Coke and AT&T during her career, “For Whitney Houston, who had an elegant voice and an elegant way about her, we wouldn’t do a fast-food brand relationship, for example.

The hologram will be on tour with Whitney’s original band and backup singers, including her brother Gary.

“Before she passed, there was so much negativity around the name; it wasn’t about the music anymore,” Pat said in the interview of her late sister-in-law. “People had forgotten how great she was. They let all the personal things about her life outweigh why they fell in love with her in the first place.”
