Tiffany Haddish And Ex-Husband Go To Court Over Abuse Allegations

Tiffany Haddish and her ex-husband William Stewart are appearing in a Texas court this week over abuse allegations the actress wrote about in her book.

According to reports, William sued Tiffany and Simon & Schuster last year over a chapter in her memoir The Last Black Unicorn, titled “The Ex-Husband,” which laid out allegations of abuse and stalking.

Tiffany and William were married and divorce twice, and the actress never mentions William by name in the book.

In William’s suit, he states that he sent Tiffany and Simon & Schuster multiple letters to fix the “harmful and defamatory” assertions in the chapter before filing the suit. He also says that Tiffany replied “be patient your blessings are coming” and “start to think positive so positive things can come your way. Because your blessings are waiting on you.”

William was also quick to point out that the restraining order Tiffany received during their marriage was dropped after she “recanted the allegations” and “pled with law enforcement to dismiss the TRO because it was untrue. In fact, she confessed to attacking Mr. Stewart.”

Now, as Page Six points out, he’s seeking over $1 million for defamation, libel, and slander.
