David Letterman Wants To Be His Son’s ‘Best Friend’

David Letterman is enjoying retirement, particularly because it gives him more time with his 16-year-old son Harry.

“The first year I sure did [miss late night],” he said to The Sunday Times. “You get into a rhythm so I miss that. But the best part is, I get to do stuff with my son, who is now 16.”

Furthermore, David says he opposes the idea that parents shouldn’t be best friends with their children.

“Screw that,” he said. “Look at me — how much longer am I going to be around? I want to be the best friend. But he’s not keen on me being the best friend.”

Good for you, David!
