Here’s Why Madonna Was Refused Entry Into Eurovision Rehearsal Space

Madonna might be a superstar, but that doesn’t mean she can’t sign her contracts.

The icon was refused entry into the Eurovision Song Contest in Israel this week for a rehearsal because she’d forgotten to sign a contract to appear on the show.

According to the Times of Israel, Madonna and her reps attempted to enter the Tel Aviv arena to rehearse for her performance, which will air on the show’s finale on Saturday. But, Eurovision executive supervisor Jon Ola Sand denied her access because of the unsigned paperwork.

Apparently, according to Israel’s Channel 2 (via Page Six), Madonna was holding out on signing because of a disagreement with the European Broadcasting Union over anti-Christian imagery in her 1989 hit “Like A Prayer,” one of the songs she is performing on Saturday.

Thankfully, she finally reached an agreement with EBU and she was able to rehearse! All’s well that ends well.
