Felicity Huffman Will Plead Guilty In College Admissions Scandal

It’s Felicity Huffman’s turn to show up to court for her role in the college admissions scam.

The actress is scheduled to plead guilty in a Boston federal court today. She’s charged with paying someone to correct answers on her daughter’s SAT exam as a means to get her into USC.

“I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done,” she said in a statement. “I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions.”

According to reports, Felicity’s lawyers say she will admit to conspiracy to commit mail fraud. Her plea comes two months after she was first arrested.

The scam (dubbed “Operation Varsity Blues) involves a nationwide ring of wealthy parents accused of paying bribes to help their children get into elite universities across the country.

Prosecutors have said they will seek between four and 10 months in prison for Felicity, but given that she’s pleading guilty, they’ve also recommended a sentence on the lower range of the spectrum.

But ultimately, it’s up to the judge.
