Meghan Markle And Prince Harry’s Royal Baby Has Arrived — It’s A Boy!

The day we’ve all been waiting for has arrived! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed a baby boy.

“We are pleased to announce that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex welcomed their firstborn child in the early morning on May 6th, 2019. Their Royal Highnesses’ son weighs 7lbs. 3oz.,” a statement read on the couple’s Instagram.

“The Duchess and baby are both healthy and well, and the couple thank members of the public for their shared excitement and support during this very special time in their lives. More details will be shared in the forthcoming days.”

We don’t know the baby’s name yet, and Meghan and Harry aren’t planning on doing a photo op for photographers as per tradition. But we do know that this baby is one lucky boy.

The little one is seventh in line to the throne, behind his daddy Harry. Preceding Harry are his niece and nephews — Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. Then Prince William and Prince Charles.

The baby is likely not going to be king, of course, but that’s besides the point. He’s the first mixed race American royal baby Britain has ever seen.

The Palace announced that the Queen and Prince Charles had been informed of the news, and that Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, is “overjoyed by the arrival of her first grandchild.”

Doria is currently with Meghan and Harry at their Frogmore Cottage home, where they now reside.

Congratulations!
