Jussie Smollett Is Coping Well, After Alleged Hate Crime Hoax

Despite several months of public scrutiny and outrage, sources are saying that Jussie Smollett is doing “well” after his alleged hate crime hoax.

What’s more, the actor is hopeful that once all the evidence is out in the open, he will be publicly vindicated.

“He is focusing on his work here in L.A.,” a spokesman told the Chicago Sun-Times. “But he understands many people still have doubts. But he hopes once all the information comes out, he will be vindicated in the minds of the public.”

Jussie has been in Los Angeles since Chicago prosecutors dropped all 16 felony disorderly conduct charges against him. The last episode of Empire that he filmed before he was charged airs next Wednesday, and apparently he’s anticipating its release.

“[Jussie is] very proud of the wedding episode this week and the history it will make as the first time two African American men have been married on television,” the spokesman told the Sun-Times. “This was an emotional time for him because he had lobbied for this wedding to happen for a long time.”
