Sources Say Wendy Williams’s Husband Encouraged Her To Stay At Sober House

According to Page Six, Wendy Williams’s allegedly controlling husband, Kevin Hunter, was the person who told her she needed to go to a sober facility in Queens to battle her alcohol and drug demons.

A source from The Wendy Williams Show revealed the news to the outlet, days after Wendy broke the news that she was living in a halfway house with a group of youths this week.

“No one thinks it’s the right place for Wendy,” the source said. “She seems so frail and vulnerable. It’s frightening just how completely under Kevin’s control Wendy is . . . But she won’t hear a word against him. Those close to her are terrified something awful is going to happen. She comes to the set looking terrible.”

This week, Wendy opened up to her viewers in an emotional confession:

“I have been living in a sober house,” she said through tears. ” I’ve had a struggle with cocaine in my past. I never went to a place to get treatment . . . Only Kevin knows about this. Not my parents, nobody. Nobody knew because I look so glamorous out here. After I finish my appointments . . . I am driven by my 24-hour sober coach back to a home that I live in the tri-state with a bunch of smelly boys . . . Doors locked by 10 p.m., lights out by 10 p.m., so I go to my room and stare at the ceiling and fall asleep to come here and see you. So that is my truth.”
