Thank u, next! Ariana Grande is now the most-followed woman on Instagram. The singer dethroned Selena Gomez, according to Billboard.
As of Tuesday morning, Ariana had 148,391,669 followers compared to Selena’s 146,303,811. Her new title comes after she’s apparently gained more than 13 million new followers in the last four months. That’s a huge spike!
Reportedly, the dethroning is likely due to Selena Gomez recently taking a break from the social media platform from September to January.
Selena had previously replaced Taylor Swift as the most popular Instagram user with more than 103 million followers back in December 2016.
Something tells us Ariana is going to be on top for a while.
