Recovering from kidney stones sucks, and Liam Hemsworth is learning the hard way. 

The 29-year-old actor skipped the Monday premiere of his new Rebel Wilson-led romantic comedy Isn’t It Romantic, after being hospitalized over the weekend for kidney stones.

Speaking to People magazine at the Los Angeles event, costar Adam Devine said that the two have been texting back and forth, joking he has sent Liam “a lot of inappropriate texts” about his condition.

“Poor guy. I know he’s in a lot of pain and it really sucks what he’s going through, ’cause I know that he would want to be here and he’s a really fun guy to have around, so I’m really bummed about it,” Adam stated. 

Liam also had to skip the Grammys last Sunday, where his wife Miley Cyrus performed. A source close to Liam told People that although he “was briefly hospitalized,” he is now “at home resting and will be fine.”
