Cardi B Thanked Tom Petty For Sending Flowers, But He Died In 2017

Someone needs to send Cardi B the memo that Tom Petty died in October 2017 — a year after the rapper claimed to have received a bouquet of flowers after her Grammy win last weekend.

Cardi B posted a video on her Instagram Story of a sweet note that came with the “big” floral arrangement. “You’ve got a heart so big it could crush this town,” the card read, using lyrics from the late Tom Petty’s song “Walls (Circus).”

Though it’s likely the mystery sender included the card with the quote from Tom as a tribute to the late musician (who died of an accidental overdose at the age of 66), it seems that the rapper wasn’t aware he had passed away.

“Thank you, Tom Petty, for the flowers,” she said in a since-deleted Instagram Story video. “I left the room, but, um … and the flowers were very big. I want to say thank you so much, and this is such a beautiful note. Motherf—kers love me, bro.”

LOL! You can’t blame her. She just won a Grammy for best rap album. The nerves might have lapsed her memory!
