Ricki Lake ‘Found Love Again’ Two Years After Late Husband’s Death
The incredible Ricki Lake found love again, two years after her second husband Christian Evans killed himself in 2017 after battling bipolar disorder.
Now, she’s dating Jeff Scult, founder of the clothing brand One Golden Thread.
“I found love again,” the reality star and former talk show host said this week at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour in Pasadena, California, adding of Christian, “My husband, who passed from mental illness and suicide, it’ll be two years on Feb. 11, and I just recently found a brilliant new love.”
At the time of Christian’s death, Ricki revealed he had been battling bipolar disorder and that his manic episodes had led to the couple’s divorce in 2015 even though they continued their relationship until as recently as fall 2016.
She used his death to bring awareness for mental health struggles.
“I have to spread the word about recognizing this disorder and getting treatment as soon as possible,” she told People in 2017. “Christian didn’t want to be labeled as bipolar, but he admitted he was in the note he left. That was him finally owning it. That was him giving me permission to tell his story.”
