Empire star Jussie Smollett has received overwhelming support across the world following a horrendous hate crime attack, in which two masked men tied a noose around his neck and poured bleach on him as they screamed, “This is MAGA country!”
The attack occurred not far from his Chicago home. After being taken to the doctor, the actor has returned to attend a previously scheduled performance in West Hollywood where he spoke on the attack.
Before he began, Jussie teared up as he cleared a few rumors for the crowd, explaining that he’s not fully healed yet. He later said that his music will help him.
He added that he couldn’t let the men who did this to him win, before breaking into an upbeat song and dancing across the stage.
