It’s official. Arnold Schwarzenegger publicly approved the marriage of his daughter Katherine and Chris Pratt, a few weeks after Chris popped the question. 

“That was really fantastic,” Arnold reflected on Extra with Mario Lopez about the engagement. “She is so happy, they both are so happy. As I said to him, he is such a likable guy. I love Chris — he’s fantastic.”

The Terminator alum added that Chris asked for his blessing the “traditional way” before getting on one knee. “He’s a wonderful guy,” Arnold reiterated. “They both look really great together, they’re both happy together, so I wish them both the best of luck.”

Funny enough, Chris was already becoming fast friends with Arnold years before he proposed to Katherine.

In 2015, right after the release of Jurassic World, James Corden of The Late Late Show shared a picture of a wall that Chris had signed. The actor couldn’t help but express his excitement about writing his name next to the legendary bodybuilder: “Right next to FRIGGIN’ ARNOLD!” Chris wrote at the time.

Who knew he’d one day marry his daughter! Ain’t life funny?
