The 2019 Oscar Nominees Are In!

The Academy announced nominees for the 2019 Academy Awards this morning through a livestream hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Kumail Nanjiani.

Unsurprisingly, Lady Gaga’s performance as Ally Maine in Bradley Cooper’s A Star is Born has earned her a Best Actress nomination. She will be competing against Yalitza Aparicio (Roma), Glenn Close (The Wife), Olivia Coleman (The Favourite), and Melissa McCarthy (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) in the category.

Other favorites like BlacKkKlansman, Black Panther, and Bohemian Rhapsody are looking shiny and beautiful under the Oscar spotlight, and many are hoping this is the year Spike Lee takes home his well-overdue Oscar.
