People were super bummed when comedy couple Jimmy Kimmel and Sarah Silverman split up in 2009 after five years of dating.

Now, Jimmy is speaking out about how it took time to rekindle their friendship post-separation. 

“I would say that it took some time definitely. It definitely took some time,” Jimmy spoke on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen last night. “It was never where we didn’t like each other, hated each other, but it definitely took some time to be comfortable enough to be friends again.”

In 2017, Sarah hilariously stated on Jimmy’s show that she realized their relationship was only truly over after he welcomed two kids with wife Molly McNearney.
