WATCH: Pete Davidson Talks About His Suicide Scare

Following Pete Davidson’s suicide scare a few weeks ago when he wrote a disturbingly cryptic message on Instagram (“I really don’t want to be on this earth anymore”) then deleted his account, the comedian appeared on Saturday Night Live’s “Weekend Update” segment last weekend to make things clear.

“I’ve had a really crazy month, and I want to talk about something that matters a lot to me,” he started.

When Colin Jost replied, “mental health,” Pete responded, “no” before shifting gears to discuss Clint Eastwood’s film The Mule with John Mulaney.

John noted he has been spending time with Pete “to show him that you can have a life in comedy that is not insane, a sober domestic life.” That’s when Pete quipped, “After observing John’s life, I publicly threatened suicide. I’m sorry, I know I shouldn’t make that joke.”

Following the suicide scare, Pete has been focused on his comedy shows and spending time with friends.
