Robert Mueller Disputes BuzzFeed Report Claiming Trump Told Cohen to Lie

Robert Mueller has come out of hiding in the midst of his investigation into Donald Trump. 

After BuzzFeed published an article this week claiming authorities have proof Trump directed his personal attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about plans to build a Trump Tower in Moscow (which is an impeachable offense given that it’s an obstruction of justice), Mueller’s team hit back.

In a rare statement issued on Friday, Mueller challenged the story’s accuracy: “BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate,” his spokesman, Peter Carr, told People magazine. 

BuzzFeed said in its own statement, “We are continuing to report and determine what the special counsel is disputing. We remain confident in the accuracy of our report.”
