December 2018. It’s been a day of multiple legal developments in the #US, exposing #DonaldTrump’s Presidential Campaign to greater Scrutiny. Memos released by Prosecutors in #NewYork have Directly Implicated Trump in Campaign Finance Crimes during his Presidential Bid. Seperately, Prosecutors with #RobertMueller’s Investigating Team say #Moscow then reached out to his Personal Lawyer, #MichaelCohen, as far back as 2015. Mueller’s Team also says Trump’s former Campaign Manager, #PaulManafort, Violated a Plea Deal by Lying to them on Five Different Matters, including his contacts with a #Russian Associate. Robert Mueller has come out of hiding in the midst of his investigation into Donald Trump. 

After BuzzFeed published an article this week claiming authorities have proof Trump directed his personal attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about plans to build a Trump Tower in Moscow (which is an impeachable offense given that it’s an obstruction of justice), Mueller’s team hit back.

In a rare statement issued on Friday, Mueller challenged the story’s accuracy: “BuzzFeed’s description of specific statements to the Special Counsel’s Office, and characterization of documents and testimony obtained by this office, regarding Michael Cohen’s Congressional testimony are not accurate,” his spokesman, Peter Carr, told People magazine. 

BuzzFeed said in its own statement, “We are continuing to report and determine what the special counsel is disputing. We remain confident in the accuracy of our report.”

The sad part is that this gave Trump the right amount of juice to lash back at the press:

Remember it was Buzzfeed that released the totally discredited “Dossier,” paid for by Crooked Hillary Clinton and the Democrats (as opposition research), on which the entire Russian probe is based! A very sad day for journalism, but a great day for our Country!
