According to Deadline, a new live-action film adaption of The Hunchback of Notre Dame is in the works. And its original composers, Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz, are attached. 

Reportedly, the new movie will lift from Disney’s earlier film and Victor Hugo’s original novel rather than material from the recent stage adaptation.

The movie joins a bevy of other familiar Disney titles getting the big screen treatment once again. 

Premiering this year are Dumbo, Aladdin, and The Lion King, with Mulan, Pinocchio, and The Little Mermaid (with Lin-Manuel Miranda attached) also in the works.
