Glenn Close And Lady Gaga Tie For Critics Choice Award, Best Actress

The Critics’ Choice Awards saw double wins in two of its major acting categories.

Glenn Close and Lady Gaga tied for the category of Best Actress in a Movie, for their roles in The Wife and A Star Is Born.

“The world pits us against each other in this profession,” Glenn said, according to Deadline. “And I know, from the other women in this category, we celebrate each other and we are proud to be in this room together.”

Gaga, who also won Best Original Song for “Shallow” earlier in the evening, dedicated the award to sufferers of substance abuse and their loved ones: “I wanted nothing more to show the truth and power of this very heartbreaking dynamic,” the singer said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “The true star of the film is not me; it is bravery and it is perseverance.”
