Christian Bale stars as former vice president Dick Cheney in the biopic Vice, which has been getting Oscar buzz lately. But apparently, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner went to a West Palm Beach theater to watch it and ended up leaving halfway through. 

It remains unclear what prompted the exit, though a witness describes it as abrupt. A source told People that Ivanka and Jared spent only a few days at Mar-a-Lago over the holidays. 

“She is not overly social and he is very quiet, often stone-faced,” the source said. “I’m sure they don’t see anything wrong with coming here despite the government shutdown. It is one of their homes.”

Both Ivanka and Jared are still at work as essential government employees during the shutdown.

According to CNN, Jared was on Capitol Hill this week assisting in ongoing negotiations between the president and Congress to resolve the shutdown.
