‘Doctor Who’ Ratings Are Way High Since Casting A Female Lead

For those who thought casting a female Doctor Who was a bad idea, think again! Apparently the ratings are through the roof.

The series is reportedly averaging 1.6 million viewers per episode, which is about as many viewers as Riverdale averaged during its first season. Marie Claire also reports that the ratings are a 20 percent increase over the last Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, who averaged 1.3 million viewers per episode.

The beloved Doctor Who is a popular, long-running science fiction series about a time-traveling wizard who goes on a variety of adventures that involve traveling through time and space with a human companion.

Since its conception in the 1960s, many male actors have played the famous doctor, but none have been female until this season when producers cast Jodie Whittaker.

And she’s fabulous! Check it out.
