Yet Another Woman Accuses Neil deGrasse Tyson of Sexual Misconduct

The world is still shocked over sexual misconduct allegations against our favorite astrophysicist, Neil deGrasse Tyson. Though he’s since come out to give a detailed explanation of all these accusations, another woman has come forward since his initial statements.

Neil is already being investigated by National Geographic, the company behind his Emmy-winning show, Cosmos.

“We take his word at face value. I think he’s exploiting that relationship to get people to believe him,” a new accuser argued with BuzzFeed, referencing Neil’s denials and how he’s utilizing his likability from fans to steer attention away from the accusations.

The woman claims Neil drunkenly approached her during a holiday party at the American Museum of Natural History, where he works, in January 2010 and began making crude comments and jokes toward her before eventually suggesting that they both go into his office alone. The woman says she was invited to the party by her then-boyfriend, who was also an employee.

Emails obtained by BuzzFeed show that she later mentioned the alleged interaction in a 2014 email to her employers — in an attempt to “shoot down a proposed collaboration with Tyson,” the site reports.

Two of the Tyson accusers — Katelyn N. Allers, of Bucknell University, and the astrophysicist’s former assistant, Ashley Watson — came forward last month and spoke about their encounters with him during interviews with Patheos.

Katelyn described how she was allegedly groped by Tyson in 2009 at the American Astronomical Society conference in Long Beach, California. Ashley claimed she was tormented by constant sexual advances.
