It’s always a sad day when two queens aren’t supporting each other. This week, Madonna seemingly came after Lady Gaga while she’s been campaigning for an Oscar for A Star Is Born.

It all started after a video compilation circulated online (below) of Lady Gaga saying since October during her press tour: “There can be 100 people in a room and 99 of them don’t believe in you, but all it takes is one and it just changes your whole life.”

While it might be a sweet and sentimental thing to say, some fans think it sounds awfully familiar.

Yesterday, Madonna posted an Instagram story of herself being interviewed back in the ‘80s saying this: “If there are 100 people in a room and 99 say they liked it, I only remember the one person who didn’t.”

She also posted an image of herself with the caption “Don’t F–k with Me Monday,” which set off a firestorm in the comments between her fans and Gaga’s fans.

One Madonna fan wrote, “For all the 11-year-old Gaga fans, just google ‘Single White Female,’ then you’ll understand why Madonna is likely upset.” Meanwhile, a Gaga fan fired back, “You’re a little old for games, you’re sentences are not catalogued, much less protected by copyright.”

The feud between Madonna and Lady Gaga isn’t new, but hopefully the two will be able to work it out soon. There’s room in the pop world for both of you! (we hope.)
