Actor Jason James Richter stole our hears as Jesse in Free Willy, but now he’s looking at jail time after getting sentenced on domestic abuse charges in Los Angeles.

Jason was arrested in October for a misdemeanor, the LAPD confirmed at the time. He ended up spending two nights in jail and was released on $20,000 bail, then later charged with two misdemeanors — one for domestic battery and one for vandalism.

According to TMZ, Jason’s arrest occurred after he allegedly had an argument with his girlfriend at their home, and things escalated quickly after he asked her about a co-worker and whether they were having an affair. Following the alleged incident, his girlfriend showed up at the police station and filed a report, claiming domestic violence.

Last week, he pleaded no-contest to the vandalism charge and was found guilty. The charge for domestic battery was dismissed due to his plea negotiation.

He is sentenced to four days in a Los Angeles County jail and was told he’ll be on probation for 36 months. Additionally, he will have to pay fines and fees, including restitution to the victim, which will be determined later.
