WATCH: Highlights From The Kennedy Center Honors, Honoring Cher, Reba, & More

H/T: USA Today.

It was definitely a show for the ages this year at the Kennedy Center Honors, honoring Cher, Reba McEntire, saxophonist/composer Wayne Shorter, and composer Philip Glass.

Hamilton co-creators Lin-Manuel Miranda, Thomas Kail, and Andy Blankenbuehler were also honored.

Host Gloria Estefan began the night honoring the late George H.W. Bush: “Before we begin with a tribute to our first honoree,” she stated, “I think it’s appropriate to recognize the passing of a wonderful man who dedicated his life to service and who graciously attended this event many times during his administration, laughing, applauding, singing along and even shedding a tear from right up there in the presidential box, President George H.W. Bush.”

“He was a gentle, kind man,” she said in conclusion, “who my family and I will never forget.”

Reportedly, one of the best moments of the night came when Cyndi Lauper delivered an electrifying performance of Cher’s “If I Could Turn Back Time,” which inspired the crowd to stand up and scream like the Cher fans we all are!

Tune in for those moments and more when The Kennedy Center Honors air Dec. 26 (8 p.m. EST) on CBS.
