WATCH: ‘Saturday Night Live’ Paid Tribute To George H.W. Bush

When a former president dies, America is reminded of how important respect, dignity, and integrity are — and why they matter. Given the current presidential administration, it’s always healthy to reflect on a time when things weren’t so divisive.

Saturday Night Live recently paid a beautiful tribute to former president George H.W. Bush, who passed away last week. At the end of the “Weekend Updatesegment, hosts Michael Che and Colin Jost switched to a serious tone as they acknowledged him.

“President Bush was famously a very warm and gracious man who always understood the power in being able to laugh at yourself,” Colin said.

Then a collage of former SNL cast member Dana Carvey’s memorable moments impersonating George played, followed by Bush’s appearance alongside Dana on the show, where he lightheartedly critiqued the accuracy of Dana’s portrayal.
