Kenan Thompson Slams Pete Davidson For Tone-Deaf Joke About Vets

After Pete Davidson came out with a tone-deaf joke about Republican politician Dan Crenshaw, Kenan Thompson is now coming out against it.

The SNL star recently said on The View, “It’s never somewhere I would go in the offense territory towards veterans because my father is one.” He also added that Pete “missed the mark.”

“It’s been an unfortunate outcome when you’re a comedian trying to go for jokes…and you want to bring joy into something and you miss the mark,” the also said. But, “Pete’s a good kid, he has a good heart, he has tragedy in his life with his father passing in 9/11, so I definitely don’t think he goes out to offend people. I’m pretty sure [the ‘SNL’ staff is] going to right that wrong, because it’s not our intention to disrespect anyone.”
