Kate Middleton wore Princes Diana’s favorite tiara, proving that the Duchess of Cambridge indeed has great taste. 

Kate attended a state banquet at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday night wearing a blue Alexander McQueen gown topped with Diana’s special headpiece: the Lover’s Knot tiara, which features teardrop-shaped pearls. 

Diana wore the tiara on several occasions. The last time was in 1991, and apparently it wasn’t worn publicly until Kate chose it for the Diplomatic Reception at Buckingham Palace in 2015.
