Woah! The NBA Is Planning On Banning Kanye West’s Yeezy Sneakers

Looks like Kanye West’s sneakers, Yeezy, won’t be seeing the floor of the NBA anytime soon.

According to ESPN, Adidas-sponsored athletes were expected to debut the shoe on the court during the 2018-2019 season, but the NBA took issue with how much 3M reflective tape is used on the style. The shiny heels of the shoe will prove too distracting for audiences both in the arena and at home. Ouch.

Yeezy is used to this kind of ban, though. In 2016, Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins was fined $6,000 by the league for wearing Yeezy cleats on the field during the opening game of the NFL season.

Perhaps these sneaks were only made for the streets.
