Julie Chen Is A No-Show After Husband Les Moonves Resigns From CBS After Allegations

Days after The New Yorker published another report about multiple women alleging serious sexual assault allegations against CBS chairman and CEO Les Moonves, his wife Julie Chen was a no-show at The Talk premiere yesterday.

“I am taking a few days off from The Talk to be with my family,” she said in a statement obtained by People magazine. “I will be back soon and will see you Thursday night on Big Brother.”

Julie’s absence was obvious when co-host Sharon Osbourne said, “It’s a bittersweet day for us. … We’re about to talk about something that affects everybody’s lives here at CBS. And I’ve never been nervous in my life, but I’m kind of very nervous right now. As you all know, Julie’s husband is in the news and she’s taking off time to be with her family.”

Les and Julie have been married since 2004. According to reports, CBS and Les “will donate $20 million to one or more organizations that support the #MeToo movement and equality for women in the workplacs.” The network added that the donation will be made immediately. “Moonves will not receive any severance benefits at this time (other than certain fully accrued and vested compensation and benefits).”
