Omarosa Releases Alleged Recording of Her Being Fired from White House

Omarosa Newman was previously alleged to have recordings of Donald Trump that she secretly recorded. According to The Blast, there are people who’ve claimed to have seen and heard the recordings, vouching that they’re real.

But now, during an interview on Sunday with NBC’s Meet the Press she shared a tape with the program that was allegedly recorded in secret while Chief of Staff John Kelly fired her in December 2017. She reportedly made the recording in order to “protect myself” from false stories about her time in Trump administration.

On the tapes, a man’s voice she says is John Kelly says, “It is important to understand that if we can make this a friendly departure.” He adds it would be necessary so that she could “go on without any type of difficulty in the future relative to your reputation.”

“It’s very obvious[ly] a threat,” Omarosa told Chuck Todd. “He goes on to say that things can get ugly for you. The chief of staff of the United States under the direction of the president of the United States threatening me on damage to my reputation and things getting ugly for me — that’s downright criminal.”

When she asked if Trump knew she was getting fired, John said, “Let’s not go down the road,” adding that “the staff and everyone on the staff works for me, not the president.”
