Johnny Depp Being Sued By Crew Member Who Says He Assaulted Him

Johnny Depp is getting sued by a crew member of the film City of Lies, after he alleges the actor punched him and berated him publicly.

Gregg Brooks was hired as a location manager for City of Lies, an upcoming movie about the murders of rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. According to TMZ, the assault happened in April 2017.

According to court documents, Gregg claims Johnny became angry when Gregg told him they only had one more shot, and Gregg sought out an LAPD officer for protection. He says in the complaint that Johnny followed him and allegedly punched him twice in the ribs after screaming, “Who the f— are you? You have no right to tell me what to do.”

Gregg also alleges in the complaint that the actor said he’d give him “$100,000 to punch me in the face right now” after he didn’t react to the punches.

Director Brad Furman later said the incident was “exaggerated,” saying to Page Six: “He always treats the crew and people around him with the utmost respect. Movies can be stressful, and nonevents often become exaggerated. We all love stories — there isn’t one here.”
