Director Ava DuVernay tweeted a childhood photo of herself with comments on the current family separation happening at the U.S. Mexico border, and already she’s seeing a viral trend on Twitter.

Hollywood has recently fought Corey Lewandowski for his rude remarks about a 10-year-old girl with down syndrome being separated from her mother. Rachel Maddow got so emotional during a TV report on “tender age” shelters for immigrant babies.

“I look at myself as a girl and imagine having to travel unsafely in a quest for safety,” she tweeted. “Be forcibly separated from my mother. Caged with people I don’t know and who don’t know me. Alone in a world I don’t understand. Imagine this for the child you were. We cannot allow this.”
