Roseanne Barr Might Rid Her Own Profits For A Potential Spinoff of ‘Roseanne’
One of the biggest hurdles producers are trying to jump is how to do a spinoff of Roseanne without giving its creator a share of the profits. Now, Roseanne Barr is “seriously considering” forgoing them for fans to get a spinoff.
According to Page Six, Roseanne is hiding out with her parents in Utah, and “feels so bad about her antics she is trying to figure out a way to help people harmed by the cancellation. She’s considering giving up financial and creative participation in a spinoff so the people she loves can have jobs. Barr holding on is a stumbling block.”
While it’s unclear who might be able to get a spinoff, people are racing for a Darlene (the oldest daughter) and her own family.
“I don’t really have words at the moment, but maybe they can salvage the legacy in some way. But if it benefits [Barr] financially . . . it’s a bad move,” producer Whitney Cummings said to TMZ this week.
