Val Kilmer was one of the scene-stealers in the original Top Gun, and now the sequel to the 1986 hit isn’t about to let him go unnoticed.

The production is currently filming in San Diego, and it follows fighter pilots who are entangled in a drone-driven airspace which has made their flying obsolete.

The film hits theaters on July 12, 2019. Welcome back, Iceman!
