Jackie Lee Reveals He’s Fought Testicular Cancer Twice
Nashville singer/songwriter Jackie Lee revealed that he’s fought testicular cancer twice. And now he’s hoping his talents will define more than a disease.
His new song “Long Year” describes his grief over his mother’s death (she died of cancer) as he faces his own health crisis. “I hope that people know it’s coming from a real place, real emotion,” he said to People.
His song “Getting Over You,” charted in 2017 and has racked up almost 40 million Spotify plays. But even more so, he says, he hopes “Long Year” sends a message to anyone else who is suffering that “no matter what you’re going through, you’re going to get through it.”
