Original Louis Lane, Margot Kidder, Dead At 69

Cinema lost one of its original box office leading ladies. Margot Kidder, who played Lois Lane alongside Christopher Reeve in 1978’s Superman, passed away this week, according to the Franzen-Davis funeral home in Livingston, Montana.

The cause of death is unknown at this point, and funeral arrangements are still pending. In 2015, she took home a Daytime Emmy for playing Mrs. Worthington in R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour.

She also guest starred in the teen Superman drama Smallville. Margot struggled with bipolar disorder. In 1996, she went missing and was found several days later hiding in bushes near a Los Angeles home. Kidder was taken to a hospital for observation. She had since become a mental heath advocate.
