While Prince Harry and Barack Obama’s friendship has been widely reported, the former president and his wife Michelle will not be going to the royal wedding.

“It has been decided that an official list of political leaders – both U.K. and international – is not required for Prince Harry and Ms. Markle’s wedding. Her Majesty’s Government was consulted on this decision, which was taken by The Royal Household,” a Kensington Palace spokesman said Tuesday.

The decision to omit world leaders also means the Obamas won’t be attending, but that doesn’t mean they won’t visit in the future. “Both the couples look forward to seeing each other soon,” added a royal source.
