Marcia Gay Harden opened up about her hopes for her 13-year-old gay son at Family Equality Council’s Impact Awards.

“The cause is dear to me, yes,” she told Us Weekly at the event. “My son is gay. I just want to make sure he gets to have a family when he wants one.”

Of course, Marcia is one of other mothers who’ve spoken out and have been active in LGBT rights thanks to their gay sons — including Sally Field and Marie Osmond.
